FREE Child ID Kit

 Parenting  Comments Off
May 122011

To help promote child safety, Masonic Lodge No. 1435 will be holding a free “Child ID Kit” session this Saturday May 14, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 12 Noon.

From their website:

These kits can provide the police department with a four to six hour head start in case of an emergency because the information they need is immediately available for their use. A parent/guardian’s permission is required before we can start making a kit. The Lodge retains only the permission slip. Once a kit is completed, we destroy all information about the child. It can take up to 30 minutes to complete each kit. In order to help speed the process up we request that parents come prepared with information about their child such as: their physicians name, address and phone number; a list of their medications; height and weight; emergency contact phone numbers and, if desired, their social security number.

Location: 101 N. Allen Drive, Allen, TX 75013

Visit their website for more info.

Teachers are awesome, aren’t they? My kids really lucked out this year to have two great teachers! The effort they put into their lessons and working with the kids is really impressive. We get weekly emails detailing what the class has learned for the week and what the class can look forward to learning the next week. It’s really spoiled me for the future, I think! ;)

Anyway, since it’s teacher appreciation week, I started researching what teachers like as gifts. I found a lot of ideas and put together a list of the 10 best teacher gifts that you can find on my DFWmama.com blog. Check it out! If you need a printable version, click here.

To all the teachers out there–thanks for all that you do!

P.S. Our room mom is putting together a book of letters and drawings from the kids–how perfect is that?
