I had a chance to talk to Fanny Kerwich, the found and Creative Director of Lone Star Circus recently. She was really awesome–such a lively and positive person! We talked about her history in the circus and how she founded Lone Star Circus and the Lone Star Circus School, both non-profit organizations. We also talked about Lone Star Circus’ new holiday show Cirque Banquiste which will be playing at the Rosewood Center for Arts from December 29th through January 1st. The show features international circus super stars that come to Dallas during the holidays just to perform in this show. My family can’t wait to see it!  Ticket prices for Cirque Banquiste range from $20 – $45 and you can get a 10% discount at by using the discount code LSC!

I was really impressed to hear that Fanny started training on the trapeze at age 4 and then started performing professionally in her family’s circus when she was just 6 years old!

She ended up starting Lone Star Circus because she met her then future husband when she was touring with a show in Dallas. Really neat love story!

P.S. Don’t forget that I’m giving away 4 tickets to the opening night for Lone Star Circus and the contest ends Thursday, Dec 22nd. There are two easy ways to enter. Click here to find out how.

So excited about Lone Star Circus’ new holiday show, Cirque Banquiste! My family got to see a preview of Cirque Banquiste at the North Texas Kids Family Expo back in November and the cast was so  exciting to watch! The show will open on Thursday, December 29th at The Rosewood Center for Family Arts and play for six performances through January 1st. What a cool way to spend a family friendly New Year’s Eve!

I love The Rosewood Center. That’s where Dallas Children’s Theater is based and it’s such a nice, intimate venue which means you get to see everything up close! We recently went to see Madeline’s Christmas and The Nutcracker there and had so much fun. By the way, be sure to check out my review of Madeline’s Christmas at my blog on

My kids can’t wait to see Cirque Banquiste. They were really impressed with the acrobatic moves, balancing acts and the hoola hooping (with up to 10 hoops!) that we saw in the short preview at the Expo. If that little bit was so good, imagine how great the full performance will be.

The show features acrobats, aerialists, hand balancers, jugglers, from all over the world who will perform together to create a sensational circus extravaganza! Can’t wait to see all the fancy costumes they’ll be wearing. A couple of Dallas acts, Slappy and Monday from Slappy’s Playhouse, are also in the show.

Remember, there are only going to be six performances from December 29th to January 1st so get your tickets ASAP! Tickets for Lone Star Circus range from $20-$45 and you can get 10% off right now by entering code LSC at
